Merry Christmas to all and do NOT forget Christmas is the day that Jesus was born.. It is not about enjoying but of doing the necessary, just as God did on Christmas 2005 years ago..

Orchard was full of weird ppl and all the uncivilised ppl throwing stuff around, spraying, shouting.. what IS Singapore coming to nowadays?! how can we claim to be progressing when there're still so many out there who are in gangs and doing uncivilised acts in public?! the police cant do anything about it.. well, that's the negative aspect we have in our society..

WELL, ppl! its been a long time since i've blogged.. before i start, gotta warn you that this IS rather long.. here i go.. i've told you ppl that time's against me.. maple calls more than blog does! wahaha.. anyway, we've just arrived back from genting and this is the 4th day that we're back.. WE GOT GOLD WITH DISTINCTION! OUGHT TO BE PROUD OF US, SINGAPORE!

anyway, here's all the itty gritty details that happened while we were preparing for the genting trip:

immediately after our last paper: yay! lets go do our pw and prepare for the holidays..! theres so much to do in so much time! home work can be done later when we have more time...

while doing pw: oh gosh.. this is boring.. its such a waste of time!! argh.. cant wait for OP to be over.. then we'll have more time to do our things..

after OP: well, we got all the time in the world.. what shall we do?! gosh.. ! there's band! argh.. who is the person who signed us up on the stupid competition?! wasting our time... and look at the amount of practices!! everyday from 5-9.......................................... hope this is not carried out..

band practices are actually fun, but the intensity of band practices and the short resting times in between practices make it quite intolerable.. thank goodness Ms Sia had the brains to cancel some practices to ensure that we turn up at the remaining practices... so life went on with band practices ruling most of it.. and dinners were at 9.30 after band practices.. diet changed during the many weeks of band practices we had in november..

well, then came the week when my parents left for china with my younger bro, effectively leaving me alone at home with 3 dogs to take care of.. usually, the dogs are much fun and they are very cute.. but when you dont have the time to play with them, cleaning their toilet every morning, evening and night, soon became hazardous with shit all over the area.. gosh.. thinking back makes me realise how much i had to clean... not only that, the washing machine decided not to obey my commands.. somehow, water was left in the machine and it switched off.. WTH!!

anyway, my parents came back just in time before my genting trip.. and they took over the cleaning and maintenance of the house.. they just know about what to do in every situation that the dogs give.. yep.. packing for the trip and getting Kenny and XW over for the night before we left was rather tideous but we did manage to get some rest and report on time on monday, the 5th of december 2005..

So we're on our trip to genting and it was an estimated 7 hr journey trip.. boy, was the bus lousy and uncomfortable.. sleep was taking over some of us, especially those who went for prom night the day before.. the only consolation was that Kenny's father brought dim sum for us to eat on the bus! how nice of him to come all the way to meet us and give us food! and it tasted GOOD!

So monday came and went with the bus journey.. we had snacks, or snaks if this was malaysia, on the bus.. so did the perc section and they keep claiming we got the idea from them, which we did.. HA! first night, food was rather moist and edible and the opening ceremony came and went in a blink of an eye.. a whole lot of words that the speakers gave, but meaningful to some extent..

2nd day, morning.. we were supposed to do accoustics checking and then have workshop at 5... so we went around genting exploring a little.. i was bored by 3pm that day.. genting is one of the MOST BORING PLACES ON EARTH! SAHARA WOULD BE A LITTLE BETTER.. cold and dry, it became the worst experience overseas.. OH.. but we had some fun at the haunted house that day..

3rd day morning was our competition time and we were all anxious.. SOME people had the nerves to be late on the competition itself.. anyway, while we went into our room for warming up, i overheard Ms Sia talk to the organisers about the timing on stage.. it went something about the 2 mins of tuning could be used for the songs instead.. so she decided to do that but our song became one so full of emotion, i think many ppl were awed by it, sadly overtime though... afternoon came and went with us doing nothing but walk all over the place.. then came evening.. we gathered at the hall as ONE band and we were hoping for the best.. Ms Sia told us that we were overtime and the ppl she had asked had given her the wrong information.. so, when we got gold, it went like that

Screams and shouts from our band could be heard through the hall.. many ppl were staring but it didnt bother us.. so we prayed hard we were the only band that made it to gold.. well, 3 other bands did but 2 of which were borderline golds.. the last one was slightly above us and we were disappointed.. though, disappointment did not set us in.. our teacher tried to 'encourage' us but i think he did the wrong thing.. this is not the military or what-so-ever.. this is a band. we feel for each other and when something goes wrong, we feel the pinch.. it so happens that this teacher thought this was military.. DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!!!

WTH LAH... #$%^#$%#$.... the unity of the band soon after his 'speech' made us all very proud of ourselves.. we went back to our rooms and crashed each other's rooms to gossip and talk all that we could to make ourselves feel better.. well, we learnt a lot of things through this trip.. never trust the organisers just before the competition..

4th day.. free and easy till 4.30 and then rehearsal for closing ceremony.. dinner was crap and did i mention? food in genting SUCKS TO THE CORE.. service attitude there is crap.. they do things without thinking.. anyway, our band ppl had the audicity to come late for the closing ceremony when they knew it was our last chance to prove ourselves.. they flashed the results once more on the screen and this time we knew we had thrashed all the other bands flat.. 89.6%-5%(penalty)=85.12%... this costs us a lot and we were determined to earn it back.. performance on stage lasted about 15 mins.. we sort of wowed the audience but we knew we did not play that well.. anyway, we did our best!

then cocktail party and pictures galore.. there was no night.. it became day soon with lots of bridge and walking around with benny, yosua, xw, ty, pok and zh.. sure was fun to spend the whole week with our friends.. we all wish we had more time to spend together.. well, as i've said, time is NOT on our side..

we came back on fri and packed up.

Sunday we met up at tamp at seoul garden for dinner to celebrate Paulina's birthday.. lots of laughter and food.. great time there but so much of pushing me around.. haha.. come to think of it, it was all in the name of fun and i should'nt have been so reluctant.. anyway, we did enjoy ourselves didnt we?

and then yest, went to help pasir ris sec band shift to their new sch in bedok.. more or less confirmed to play in the next concert.. vivala musica IV.. got back and realised everyone was doing their holiday assignments except me.. so i got stressed up and today i went to hand up my drop subject form.. hope i made the right decision and may God guide me in my studies next year..
